Mobile has changed the way we interact on a day-to-day basis amongst us. It has also changed how we conduct business and how we make purchases. From instant searches such as the closest liqueur store in my location, to what the lowest price for the trousers I saw on a retail store.
All the above is not something new. We all know the effects mobile has in our lives. The main question is whether is capable of replacing, at least to some extent, desktop. You might think I am exaggerating. That was my point of view as well until last week, when I came across a very interesting Silverpop infographic. Consider this, over 50% of emails in the US only are opened on mobile while 74% of mobile users now incorporate research into their purchasing process. And such numbers are only going to increase in the next year or two. Maybe we have been over the top with our title, but mobile is fighting off a big cut of desktop usage.
